Three Scrip Award wins in eight years would be notable for any software vendor; for one that competes in a category typically dominated by full-service CROs, it is a harder pattern to explain away. CluePoints, the Wayne, PA-based risk-based quality management software company, has been shortlisted for Best Contract Research Organization (Specialist Providers) at the 2026 Scrip Awards, having already taken that category in 2023 and 2025. The ceremony is December 2 in London, and the outcome will say something about how the industry now categorizes data oversight technology relative to traditional CRO services.
The qualifying period, July 2025 through June 2026, coincided with two meaningful expansions. CluePoints added enterprise contracts and multi-year, multi-product agreements with global biopharmaceutical sponsors and CROs, and it released three new capabilities built on the same statistical engine that anchors its RBQM platform: Intelligent Query Detection, Medical and Safety Review, and Intelligent Medical Coding. Those three workflows, query management, medical and safety review, and coding, are where fragmented tools most reliably delay decisions and introduce data integrity risk. Bringing the same peer-reviewed statistical approach to them extends CluePoints’ footprint from monitoring oversight into the broader data review cycle. The RBQM software market is projected to reach $1.37 billion in 2026, up from $1.24 billion in 2025, so the timing of a product line expansion is defensible on commercial grounds alone.
The regulatory backdrop reinforces the product direction. ICH E6(R3), finalized in June 2026, formally encodes risk-based monitoring into Good Clinical Practice, the standard CluePoints’ approach was built around before it became a regulatory requirement. Companies that designed their workflows around ICH E6(R3) compliance now have a clear procurement argument: the statistical methodology is already embedded in the guidance language, not just in a vendor’s marketing materials. That alignment between product design and regulatory expectation is what separates a shortlisting from a surprise win.
Whether CluePoints converts the nomination to a third Scrip win matters less than what the new capabilities generate in adoption data. Uptake of IQD, MSR, and IMC across existing enterprise accounts during 2027 will be the real signal of whether the platform expansion lands.
