Corvus Pharmaceuticals provided a business update and announced its financial results for the fourth quarter and year ending December 31, 2024. The company highlighted progress with its selective ITK inhibitor, soquelitinib, in various disease areas, including atopic dermatitis, peripheral T cell lymphoma (PTCL), and autoimmune lymphoproliferative syndrome (ALPS). Additionally, Corvus detailed advancements in other clinical programs such as ciforadenant for renal cell cancer and mupadolimab for non-small cell lung cancersmall cell lung cancer, spearheaded by its Chinese partner, Angel Pharmaceuticals.
The advancement of soquelitinib as a potential treatment across a range of cancers and immune diseases is notable. Positive Phase 1 data in atopic dermatitis, along with ongoing Phase 3 trials in PTCL and Phase 2 trials in ALPS, suggest a potential for this drug to address unmet needs in these areas. The broadening clinical application of soquelitinib strengthens Corvus’s position in the immunotherapy field and holds promise for future expansion into solid tumors.
Financially, Corvus reported $52 million in cash, cash equivalents, and marketable securities at the end of 2024, compared to $27.1 million at the close of 2023. This increase stems from a registered direct offering and the early exercise of warrants. R&D expenses rose to $19.4 million in 2024, up from $16.5 million in 2023, attributed to the progression of soquelitinib’s clinical development. The company anticipates these funds will support operations into the first quarter of 2026.
The upcoming release of Phase 1 data from all three cohorts of the atopic dermatitis study in May 2025 is a critical milestone. Positive results could validate soquelitinib’s efficacy and safety profile, potentially accelerating its development pathway. The continuing enrollment of the Phase 3 PTCL trial and the recently initiated Phase 2 ALPS trial are equally crucial, potentially paving the way for soquelitinib to become a much-needed treatment option in these areas. The planned initiation of a solid tumor trial in the third quarter of 2025 further signals the drug’s potential and Corvus’s commitment to expanding its therapeutic applications.
