This implant leverages Vivani Medical’s patented NanoPortal technology, allowing long-term medication delivery through a subdermal implant. The exenatide drug is known for regulating blood sugar levels and promoting weight loss.
The study found that cats implanted with OKV-119 experienced significant weight reduction compared to controls. The implant’s sustained release of exenatide over 84 days effectively suppressed appetite and increased energy expenditure.
