While the company did not disclose the Phase 1b design, scope, or number of sites, the choice to start at a Mayo Clinic Network center points to an initial emphasis on complex imaging and dosimetry, radiation safety workflows, and early signal generation in a high-expertise environment.
Strategically, this is a focused expansion play for Cellectar at a time when radiopharmaceuticals are gaining momentum, but execution risk remains concentrated in CMC, isotope logistics, and site readiness. The 2025 start suggests a long runway to finalize protocol specifics, secure radiation safety approvals, and align manufacturing and distribution for an iodine-125 construct with a long half-life and tight handling controls. It also gives Evestia-ARG a window to demonstrate that its merged organization can manage radiopharma nuances—central dosimetry, chain-of-custody, nuclear medicine coordination, and cross-functional data flows—without the overhead of a mega-CRO.
For sites, the near-term impact is operational rather than scientific.
