Moleculin Biotech completed dosing for patients enrolled in Part A of its pivotal Phase 2/3 MIRACLE trial on October 30, 2026, keeping a Q1 2027 comprehensive data readout on schedule. That timeline is the number worth watching: Part A enrolled adults with relapsed or refractory acute myeloid leukemia (R/R AML), and the full dataset will either validate or complicate the positive interim signal the company has already reported.

That interim signal is the context that gives this dosing completion its weight. Earlier MIRACLE interim results showed complete remission rates roughly three times higher for the Annamycin-plus-cytarabine combination (AnnAraC) than for the control arm. Part A’s full data will show whether the interim advantage holds across the complete cohort or narrows as later enrollees are counted.

R/R AML remains a difficult setting despite recent approvals. The R/R AML treatment landscape has seen recent additions, but approved options targeting broader, non-genetically selected patient populations remain limited. Approved options remain limited for patients who do not carry those mutations, which is the broader population MIRACLE is targeting with a cytarabine-based backbone. If AnnAraC’s complete remission advantage holds in the full Part A data, Moleculin would have a dataset from a pivotal trial to support next steps with the FDA.

The Q1 2027 readout is the single near-term event that determines whether this program advances to a registration filing or returns to refinement. The interim data created the expectation; 89 fully dosed patients will settle it.
